Kobold

These small creatures settle in abandoned mines of Northern Europe. They look like dwarfs but on the contrary to them are unable to do anything by their own hands even to dig a tunnel. Kobolds set up in mines produced by people and play malicious tricks to miners in every way possible – put the light off, cut off the ropes and initiate rock falls. They are of the nasty temper on the whole.
Kobold has a lantern and silver bell in the hand. Its ringing may help out lucky man who lost their way underground. But it is more often when the ill-starred miner following the ringing goes far and far down the earth where disappears for ever.
Kobolds have rat’s tail and red beard. They’re not higher than a second-year old child, usually dressed in tatters made of rat’s fur and wear miner’s helmet under the hood.
